A Very Late Challenge Results Post

Hi all.

So this is a quick, and very late, results post for the painting challenge between myself and Zebulon. Unfortuantely a busy few weeks prevented me from doing this post sooner.

So the challenge this time was to pick a mini that we knew the other had and get them to paint that. So it could be somehting we'd had for ages and not got round to painting or something fairly new that we wanted to see done. I picked for Zebulon to do his take on Shadowsun which he got many moons ago and he challenged me to paint the Branchwych I had recently bought as part of the Sylvaneth start collecting box.

After a week of voting the results stood at 4 votes to my Branchwych and 1 vote to Zebulon's Shadowsun. So that makes my Branchwych the winner.

Thanks to everyone who looked at the post and to those who voted as well. We really appreciate it.

Painting Challenge Finished

Hi all,

So today marks the end of the first challenge of the year between here on Sign of the Aquila. This time round it was a pick something you know the other has and would like to see them paint. So for me, Blackmane picked Shadowsun, a model he picked up for me years ago and I picked for Blackmane to paint up his recently acquired Branchwych.

So below you can find the completed models for you to have a look at and decide which you think deserves to win this painting challenge.

New Year, New Painting Challenge

Hi all.

So with the new year now here and 6 days in, myself and Zebulon have settled on our first challenge. We've been having quite the discussion about challenges since our last one, for various reasons, and so in the not too distant future we'll be doing something we've not done before. For now though we kick off this year's challenges with a good, simple, painting challenge.

Blackmane vs Zebulon Painting Challenge: Challenge Paused

Hi all.

Just a quick update on the painting challenge. It was due to end tomorrow but in actual fact we've paused the challenge. Zebulon asked me earlier on this week if we could pause the challenge as due to longer than usual days at work for the last week or so he hasn't had time to even get started. So because of this I agreed to pausing the challenge until Zebulon has his free time back again as it seemsonly fair. 

Hopefully that won't be to long and we'll get a new end date set as soon as possible.

So today saw the end of mine and Zebulon's Cato Sicarius vs Ragnar Blackmane painting duel/challenge. And with that we have decided to dive straight in to the next one.

Hi all.

Today I bring my pictures of the Ragnar Blackmane model that I have painted for mine and Zebulon's latest painting duel. 

I have to say I really enjoyed this one as it got me to paint one of the few remaining named characters I had left to paint for my Space Wolves (the others been the original metal Bjorn, Arjac Rockfist and Muderfang). 

So now to the pictures. I do have to apologise for the lined paper in the background of the pictures as I had no plain paper at all. 

Painting Duel: Cato Sicarius vs Ragnar Blackmane Update

Hi all.

Just a quick update on the Cato Sicarius vs Ragnar Blackmane painting duel. The end of the challenge was meant to be yesterday, Sunday 1st, however Zebulon requested an extension until midnight tonight which I was happy to grant if it meant Zebulon got the chance to finish. So tomorrow both will go up on the blog for your good selves out there on the internet to vote for and decide the winner.

Painting Duel: Cato Sicarius vs Ragnar Blackmane

Hey all,

              Today I have a quick update on a duel myself and Blackmane have started as of today. We haven't done one of these in a while and I thought it was about time to get going again! This time it's Ragnar Blackmane vs Cato Sicarius. Ironically for me, Sicarius is one of the last Ultramarine heros I have left to get (I believe its now just Telion left) despite being the Captain of the Second Company, which I've been collecting for many a year.... I picked up my metal mini off eBay for £5 and thought it perfect a challenge. Ragnar Blackmane I believe is also the last mini for Blackmane to fill out his Space Wolf HQ's.

The start date is today and we finish on March 1st for a week of voting!

Zebulon vs Blackmane Painting Duel: Finished Models

Hi all

Today I bring pictures of the finished models that myself and Zebulon have painted up for our challenge. This post should have gone up on Thursday when our challenge finished but I think we were both a little busy so the post never got done. 

As Zebulon explained in the last post this challenge was to paint a model chosen by the other from the range of plastic characters GW has been releasing. Zebulon chose the Empire Captain for me and I chose the Wight King for Zebulon. We were free to paint them up however we wanted.

Zebulon vs Blackmane Painting Duel

Hi all,
Zebulon here putting up a quick post on myself and Blackmane's latest painting duel. Its been a fair while since we did one of these, I do believe the last one was the Island of Blood Elven Prince on Gryphonne, which was quite a while ago! Anyway we have decided to pick each others this time round from the new range of plastic heroes that GW is currently releasing.

After much thought I opted for the Empire Captain of the Empire for Blackmane

and he went for the Vampire Counts Wight King for me.

We have until next Sunday to complete the mini however we see fit then a poll opens after to determine the winner! Lets get to it!
