Mission 9 – From The Skies It Came Worth – 2 Victory Points
Type
Seize Ground, Spearhead
There will be 5 objectives in this mission.
Points
1750
Objective
The attackers advance has been slowed down by continuous bombing by enemy aircraft and shelling from artillery. However a plane was shot down and it crashed landed not too far from where the attacking force is deployed. Scouts report that the enemy have secured the wreck and appear to be looking for something in the wreckage. A medium sized force has been assembled and sent out to see if they can’t dissuade the enemy form their salvage operation.
Mission Special Rules
All is not what is seems – The Defenders have not only been looking for something among the wreckage but also rigging it to explode as a surprise for any attacking force that comes poking around. Every time an attacking unit tries to capture an objective roll a D6. On the roll of a 1 or 2 they have set off the explosives. Place the large blast template over the objective. Any models under or partially covered by the template will suffer a D3 S7 AP- hit. Vehicles can’t trigger the explosives but if they are caught by the template they will be hit on the side armour. Once an objective has been triggered remove it from play. Neither side will benefit from what it was.
Objectives – Mark each objective with a number from 1 to 5 and place them in the appropriate position as defined by the mission set up. At the end of the game make a note of the number on the bottom of each objective your side has captured, even if you have fewer objectives and lost the game. This represents spoils of war and the total will be used in the final mission.
