New Day, No Dawn: Dark Eldar Part 3

Hello all.

Its been a while since I posted anything but lots of work from uni had left me with little time over the past couple of weeks. However slowly  and in little bits at a time I have finally managed to finish off my first Dark Eldar warrior squad ( basically, 10 mins ago). So today I bring a few pictures of the first squad.

The Tau Project: 9 Days To Go

Ok so it's been a while since I last posted, but today I have news on the Project. Here is a picture of every thing that has been done so far, not exactly Golden Demon quality, but at least tabletop.

New Day, No Dawn: Dark Eldar Part 2

Hi all
Today I bring my own army list. As I'm sure your aware the forces of The Greater Good are amassing and already have a company of warriors been assembled as we speak. So I think its about time I assembled my own warriors and get ready to embark upon a realspace raid.

The Tau Project: Day of Reckoning List

So, having got home from work I've put together a list that I hope may at least put a fight against Blackmanes Dark Eldar, I know he's running Hesperex and webway portals, so I'm gong to have my hand full if they get near. However, I hope to keep them at range, and IF they get near, I have a couple of failsafe options...

The Tau Project: 26 Days To Go

Hey all,

This is the first update for today (before I go to work), finished a Devilfish yesterday and get started on the Fire Warriors that go with it. Sticking with the theme that I settled on, however,

I'm going to continue that on with the troops, rather than inverting it like I originally thought. Will post some better pics later today, but this is what I've got for now.

Advance Order Models

Hi all.

Just a quick post. I've just been on the GW website and found there are a few items now up for advance order.

The Tau Project: 5 Weeks To Go

Hey all, time for a bit of a change. I've been tinkering around with my Iron Lords for a while and put my Tau on a back burner, however with the arrival of Blackmane's Dark Eldar and the desire to put them in their place I've picked up my Tau again with the idea of having them battle ready for Boxing Day, this is a bit of a tradition between Blackmane and myself that we've done for the last few years, so I thought if he was bringing something new, so would I.

New Day, No Dawn: Dark Eldar Part 1

Hi all.

Today I bring some pictures of the first Dark Eldar model I've painted. I was up till 1 in the morning painting him and then finished him 7 or so hours later after I had got some sleep. My kabal is called the Kabal of the Blazing Sun. I've come up with some background for them and will post some brief bits of background once I've got it all together. I've gone with an orangey/red colour for them and I will endevour to put up a painting post some time soon. So without any more delay my first Dark Eldar model.

Dark Eldar! A Brief Look

Hi all.

Just a quick post today. On Friday I got the new codex, kaballite warriors and Lelith Hesperax that I advanced ordered. This doesn't mean I'm starting a new army straight away. I'm basically using the warrior models as a test to see whether I like painting Dark Eldar. If I don't then that'll be the end of them and they'll just be display models. If I do like them (highly likely), then I will get a few more things and try those out to see how I like them. I'm thinking at least wyches and a raider at this point, possibly some reavers. If those go well then it'll be a full army over time.

From Tech Lovers to Werewolf Hunters: The Iron Lords of the Grendl Stars

Hey all,
been a long time since I have posted anything, I have spent many weeks wandering the warp trying to find direction for my Iron Lords and I think I have found it. I was checking out BoLS (like I do everyday) and read an article on '40K Law' about lesser races in the Universe, and to my surprise the first article was about the Barghesi, (http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2010/10/40k-lore-lesser-xenos-barghasi.html) the race in the Grendl stars that the Iron Lords have been confining to that system as well as stopping the Tyranids from harvesting their genes. For some reason, I have no idea why, I never looked up Barghesi (or any of its other spellings) to find out a bit more about it. The Barghesi origins point to a creature knows as the Bhargest, a black goblin dog type creature that inhabits England and many other parts of the world.

BarghestBargtjestBo-guest,BargheistBargeist , BarguistBargest or Barguest is the name often given in the north of England, especially in Yorkshire, to a legendary monstrous black dog with huge teeth and claws, though in other cases the name can refer to a ghost or Household elf, especially in Northumberland and Durham (see Cauld Lad of Hylton). One is said to frequent a remote gorge named Troller's Gill. There is also a story of a Barghest entering the city of York occasionally, where, according to legend, it preys on lone travellers in the city's narrow SnickelwaysWhitby is also associated with the spectre.[1] A famous Barghest was said to live near Darlington who was said to take the form of a headless man (who would vanish in flames), a headless lady, a white cat, a dog, rabbit and black dog. Another was said to live in an "uncannie-looking" dale between Darlington and Houghton, near Throstlenest.[2]It is also thought to be the black dog that Dracula is said to have transformed into.

After reading the article, the breakdown and the comments, there was one thought that stuck in my mind,

A CHAPTER OF WEREWOLF HUNTERS!

The Iron Lords have been containing these guys for years, so it is only natural that they they have adapted to face these hyper violent species and taken trophies. Now I know these guys aren't Space Wolves and I DO NOT intend to go and follow the Space Wolves Codex, that's Blackmane s army, these guys are strictly codex.'
Thus gave me dilemma, how to make them wolf hunters without going space wolfy. So i did what I usually do and went for the total opposite, Dark Angles. I envision the Iron Lords being skilled in close combat, as the Barghesi are a hyper violent species and wolf like so I expect they would be too, and obviously the Iron Lords Assault Squads who go hand to hand with this Xenos scum would have emphasis and veneration for their Assault Squads, again I repeat these guys are codex, there will be NO BLOOD ANGELS CODEX, despite the fact they are very assault orientated.

I decided that the Assault Squads would be a good place to start with Iron Lords and work back to the troops and other options. Last night I came up with these guys ==>
They are no way finished obviously, but they represent my first Iron lords Assault Squad, built from the Dark Angels Chapter Upgrade kit and the Black Templars Upgrade kit.
A squad of 5, armed with bolt pistol and chainsword, the sergeant with bolt pistol and thunder hammer. I'm trying to think of a name for this type of squad but I'm having difficulty at the minuet. They are rigorously trained and carry silver edged knives and chainsword teeth, the Barghesi DNA reacts violently with silver causing localised molecular disintegration.
A clean stab in the heart causes instant death with a silver blade, compared to any other weapons which tends to only annoy them more, mainly because their bodies heal almost instantly.

Having vaguely fleshed out their assault squads, I can now begin to work more on their overall aim and design. But I like this new direction, I love horror films and this give me the option to combine the two! Any comments and thought are welcome!

Battle Reports - Finally

Hi all.

Today I bring another 2 battle reports. I've been meaning to type these up for the last couple of weeks but I have been so busy at Uni I haven't had the chance. I apologise in advance if these don't quite cover everything well but the games played a lot faster and I didn't get chance to make notes so some of it is from memory. The two games were part of the tournament thats currently running. These are my 1st and 2nd games.

So here goes.

Pictures: Space Wolves, Ulrik and a Special One

Hi all.
Today I'm posting some pictures I took the other day and had meant to post then but it kinda slipped my mind. Anyway here they are now. I took these the characters down to my local GW as the manager was interested in having a look. He thought they were very good and really liked them both. So have a scroll down and take a look for yourselves.

New Lizardmen on Advance Order

Hi all.

Was looking around the GW website today and came across some Lizardmen advance orders. I assume they are new as I've never seen them before. They consist of 2 variations of skink standard bearer and musician and oxyotl, who I assume is some kind of skink character. Anyway just thought I'd post this little bit of info for anyone who is interested

Battle Report: Space Wolves vs Space Marines (30/09/2010)

Hi all,

Today I'm gonna attempt to write up the game I played last week, and will hopefully follow up with the games I played this week (7/10/10). It should be noted that these games are being played at 500 points with a modified force organisation chart. The minimum required is 1 HQ and 1 Troop. This is because the game I played in was a warm up for the tournament that the manager has set up and which I have now played 2 games in (these games to follow).

Long Time No See

Hi all.

Its been a while since I last posted. However I've found myself quite busy now I'm at University and so I haven't done a whole lot of painting.

Games Night

Hi all.

Today I went to my local GW for their gamesnight. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to have a game but I did meet a couple of people and got talking to them a bit so I may have found some people to play with next time. It also turns out there's gonna be a mini tournament so I'll have a go at that I think.

On a plus side I did manage to finish updating yet another Space Wolf squad. I got my second Blood Claw squad all done apart from the base but that can wait. Next up I think I'll do either my old terminators or I'll start on one of my Grey Hunter squads or possibly even do my dreadnought.

Anyway thats all for today. Thanks for reading.

Blackmane

Go check this out

Hi all

The other day I came across quite an awesome site, Master of the Forge, that I suggest you go and check out if you don't know about it already.

http://masteroftheforge.com/

Or if you would just prefer to look at some pictures then go here.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/masteroftheforge/

Although I'm not a big fan of making marines that are better sized to fit the fluff these are very impressive. As are the models which are just 'ordinary' size.

Well thats all for today. Thanks for reading and go check out the sites.

The Wolves Are Coming!

Hi all.

Just a quick post today. I got my Space Wolves brought to me at Uni along with my paints so I can continue with the repainting I've been doing.

The Mighty of Ultramar

Hi all.

First off it looks like my post yesterday wasn't needed because I managed to get my internet sorted out quickly.

Anyway on to todays post.

Today I bring pictures of the suprise I was working on. When I mentioned it I couldn't say what it was because it was Zebulon's birthday present. However he now has it and so I can post pictures. From the title of this post you probably already know what it is. But just so its clear its Marneus Calgar and his Honour Guard.

So on with the pictures.

Going Away

Hi all.

Tomorrow (Thursday 16th), I'll be moving out from home because I'm about to start at Sheffield Hallam University. So I won't have the internet for a little bit meaning no posts from me for a while. However I'm sure you'll all be very safe in the hands of Zebulon while I'm gone lol. When I again have the internet I'll have some pictures to post so thats something to look forward to.

So thats all for now and hopefully I'll be back soon. Thanks for reading.

What I've Been Up to (Kind Of)

Hi all.

Today is just a short post.

I haven't added anything to the blog for a few days now. This is because my attention has been focused away from my models while I've been working on something else. I can't say what it is yet and I won't be posting anything more about it until Zebulon's seen what I've been working on, so keep an eye out. All I can say is I personally think its something quite special and hopefully it will be ready soon.

The Great Company of Grimnar

Hi all.

Today I bring pictures of my Space Wolves. Its not just one or two models but my entire army. Much like I did yesterday with my Gondorians.

For those whoe aren't aware my main 40k army are my beloved Space Wolves. They were my first army for 40k. They were started back in 2004 if I remember correctly. They started when Zebulon and myself bought a box of 5 space marines each. They consisted of a Captain, a marine with missle launcher and 3 with bolters. They were simple push fit models and actually a bit shorter than todays marines. While they are no longer a part of my army, except the captain who I converted, they were what got me started. The next to be added to my army was the Great Wolf himself, Logan Grimnar. Zebulon bought him for me as a present. He was follwed by a Rune Priest and a bike I think. From there the army lept forward when I bought two battleforce boxes and some long fangs. And since then my army has only gotten bigger.

Gondorian Army (So Far)

Hi all.

Today I bring a few pictures of my Gondorian army. I decided to get out all the models that make up my army so far and take a few pictures. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it all together and instead just got shots of the formations. They're also not the best pictures. The light coming into my room wasn't bright enough so I had to use the flash so the pictures are a little bright. So here goes.

More for Gondor

Hi all.

Today I got some pictures of the latest two models I've been working. These are the Helms Deep version of Aragorn and Prince Imrahil. I did paint Prince Imrahil a couple of months back but I was never happy with how it turned out. Luckily for me I had another one that was based, undercoated and ready for painting.

Dreadnought Awakening

Hi all,
today I have an update on my latest projects, which I started a long time ago but never got really finished. as some people may know by reading the earlier posts, I have some what of a weakness for Dreadnought and what would be a tech-worshipping chapter without some, these latest two Dreads join my converted AOBR Dread in the ranks of the my Iron Lords.

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures!

Hi all.

Today I bring some new pictures. While all these models have been on the blog before I've re-taken pictures of them with my new camera that I said about in my last post.

So here we go.

The Future is Clearer

Hi all.

Just a bit of general news today.
I got myself a digital camera. Up until now I've been using a webcam to take pictures of my models. And while the pictures are ok, they aren't great. So after Zebulon suggested for the millionth time that I needed a better camera, I decided to look into it. And so after looking for a good few hours over a couple of evenings I settled on a camera that I liked the look of and had all the things I felt I would need.

The Return From Sternac

Hi all,
it has been a fair while since I have posted anything, so for that I apologise, however I now have an new house, with a dedicated gaming room! So look for battle reports in the near future, I know Blackmane is itching to have a brawl with my Iron Lords/Ultramarines/Tau, so hopefully soon we can get together and play. Have got the materials worked out, and the table will be 6'x4' (not including the 12" of non-gaming reserve/ cup of tea space on either end lol). Speaking of gaming myself and Blackmane had a game of Kill Team  at the start of July and with my stuff in storage, I borrowed his Imperial Guard, having never used them in my life, I was quite astounded to actually win the game, having gone the full 6 turns I had all but annihilated Blackmane's Space Wolves, thanks to some lucky rolls and 3 Auto-cannons, fear the Lasgun people, I'm telling ya......

Death from Above!

Hi all.

Today I have finished a couple of things. Firstly I have finished my 15 strong Blood Claw unit. The newest 5 I finished a couple of months back and I finally got the original 10 done to the newer standard for the most part. The main change been how the armour was done. Secondly I have finished my Skyclaws. I also got all the Bloodclaws and Skyclaws based with snow as well as Erik Morkai and Egil Iron Wolf.

Now for the pictures.

Dwarfs!

Hi all.

Today I've been working on my first Dwarf army list. Normally I don't write an army list before starting an army. I normally just get the minimum requirements to field a legal army and then build from there in anyway I see fit. This is why I have a unit of Warriors and a unit of Thunderers already. They were the two minimum core choices I had decided to use when myself and Zebulon first got the idea to start Warhamemr armies. However I have no Dwarf Lord or Thane but I did have an Engineer so he was the army General. Not great but he would do.

For Gondor!: Boromir Captain of the White Tower

Hi all.

Yesterday I finished painting my other two version's of Boromir. Today I bring the pictures and what I hope are some useful tips.

I am very happy with how both of these models has turned out and am very very happy with the Banner of Minas Tirth. It looks so much better than it used to.

Hero of Gondor

Hi all.

Today I finished yet another model, go me! Still 50+ plus to go. Its lucky I enjoy painting.

Anyway on with the post. Today I finished one of my Boromir models. He was the first version of Boromir myself and Zebulon got. I have another two version's to paint which are fairly similar so I will do those at the same time.

One More Wolf For the Pack

Hi all.

Today I have a picture of my latest Space Wolf. Its the model I made to represent Erik Morkai. The model will primarily be used to represent one of the Masters of the Chapter in game's of Apocalypse. I will also use him from time to time, and the others, as Wolf Guard model's to lead other packs.

More New Chaos Demon models!

Hi all just a quick post.

I have just been on the GW website andthey have added yet more new Deamon models. There are now plastic Bloodcrushers and a model for Fateweaver.

Lord of the Rings Picture's

Hi all.

Today I have some picture's of my Lord of the Rings models that I've been painting the last few days.

March to the Sound of Drum's and Cannon's

Hi all Blackmane here.

Just a quick update to say that I've got my copy of Warhammer 8th edition along with all the bits you get with the Gamer's Edition. I can't wait to go through the entire book. So far I've all I've read are the rules for movement and little bits of the background stuff. Now all I have to do is is expand my Dwarf army a little bit so I can play some basic games. I could also do with a Dwarf Thane to lead my army rather than the engineer that currently does.

I will try to post more about Warhammer 8th over the next few days.

On a side not I got 11 more Lord of the Rings models painted. Hoepfully some pics will be over the next few days aswell.

Thanks for reading,

Blackamane

Scenery: Project River: Part 2

Hi all.

Today I bring a picture of my river sections so far.

As can be seen from the picture below I have now formed the banks of the river. This was done by adding scraps of carboard to the area's I had marked out as the banks. Then I used an all purpose power filler to create the banks. The cardboard allowed me to make the banks without having to have solid mounds of filler which would have made it 1. heavier and 2. more suseptible to breaking. The cardboard scraps also gave the filler something to stick to and also made it easier for me to shape the banks.

Disqus Comment System

Hi all,

Just a quick update to let you all know that Disqus has now been added to the blog. I've been trying to add it for the last couple of days but its only just worked but hopefully it will have been worth it. If there are any problems with it please be patient while I try and fix it.

Thanks

Blackmane

Into the Old World I Go.

Hi all Blackmane here.

Today I advance ordered my copy of the new Warhammer rulebook. No less the general's edition with all the cool extra bits and pieces. Will it be worth it? I hope so, it's quite expensive as I'm sure you all know. So it looks like I'll be venturing into the old world, again.

More Pics

HI all Blackmane here.

Today I bring yet more pics. There seems to have been a constant stream of them as of late. Anyway, lets get them up.

Iron, Shell's and Sniper's

Hello Blackmane here.

Today I have some pictures of some of my latest models thats I've finished.

First up we have some Space Wolf stuff.

Consider yourself Vanquished!

Hi all Blackmane here.

Today I recieved my new Leman Russ tank in the post. And as soon as I had finished working some more on the river sections (See Scenery: Project River), I set to work assembling my new tank.

Scenery: Project River

Hi all Blackmane here.

Today I started on a scenery project. Myself and Zebulon have always been somewhat lacking in the scenery department for our games until failry recently. At most we've had a few ruins from our Lord of the Rings collection and other various bits and pieces. But we've never really had a river as such. Zebulon did in the past construct us 3 sections of river. 1 had a bridge over it, and the other 2 both ended in a wooden archway which was mean to represent the river going underground. I think he made it like this because modelling material was hard to come across for us back then.

Busy Busy Busy

Hi all Blackmane here.

Today I come with an update on what I've been up too. The main thing I've been doing is stripping all of my old Lord of the Rings characters. This is for two reasons. Firstly since working on my Gondorian army I've decided that the characters leading it have to be painted better than the standard troops and this leads to the 2nd reason. With the exception of the odd model they are all badly painted by current standards. They may have been good when I did them but they are now some of the worst in my collection so I decided it was time for some updating. I now have 52 more modles to paint. Some of them i have multiple versions of. For example I have 3 versions of Boromir to paint as well as versions of characters both on foot and mounted.

The Tau Elite

Well hello friends and casual browsers, as per usual it's been a long time since I've updated the blog with anything of mine, but I now present to you the commanders of my up and coming Tau army.

Burn the Traitors!

Hi all, Blackmane here again.

Today I bring the last of the picture's I've taken.

There are only 3 picture's and they're all of pretty much the same thing.

For Gondor!

Hi all.

Today I bring my second set of pictures. These are of my Lord of the Rings army that I am currently building. Myself and Zebulon both started out with the Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game whcih we collected through fornightly magazines. From there we bracnched out to 40k and our LotR models slowly began to decline in use and have sat in boxes ever since. I have occasionally played over the past few years but not against Zebulon. However a few months ago I bought the new model of Gandalf mounted on Shaowfax. It is one of the best models I've ever painted and my passion for the LotR models was ignited once more. A couple of months ago I bought myself a copy of War of The Ring in a closing down sale and since then have been slowly painting new LotR models and repainting those that I already had in an attempt to bring them up to scratch. And so here are the first pictures of my new models, as well as some older ones, all ready to march across middle earth.

From the Wilds of Fenris I Have Come

Hi all.

Today I bring pictures. This is the first of 3 posts over the next few days. I don't want to upload all my pictures into one post as there are a fair few.

So today I'm starting with my Space Wolves who have had new additons left, right and centre over the past few months from new priests to wolf guard squads and bigger blood claw squads.

The Return From The Eastern Fringe

Hey all,
been a long time coming this, but I have had a revelation during the last couple of months, which has led me to reassess my place in the 40k universe, and for those of you who read Blackmane's last post you might know where I'm going with this.

The Greater Good. Yes, that's right folks I've thrown my hat in with the Tau in an attempt to bring the Greater Good to the rest of the galaxy, an affair that I sort of started 6/7 years ago that didn't really take off, hence why I've had a box of Fire Warriors sat unopened in my room. But that has all changed, with the possession on the new (4th ed) codex and a Battleforce, the Tau are marching to liberate the galaxy.

I'm Back....Again

Hi all Blackmane here.

Its been a while since I posted anything and due to lots of painting I haven't taken or posted any pictures on the blog. I'll try and get some taken over the next few days and get them up.

Quick Update

Hi all Blackmane here.

I've finally got the internet back so I will be able to start getting pictures up of some of the things that I've been painting while I haven't had the good old internet. Let's hope I can remember all the things I've painted and get pictures of them.

I'm Back. At Least for Today

Hi all Blacckmane here.

I currently still have no internet at home so this is only a short post to add a new picture.

Quick Update

Hi all,
a quick update explaining a few things. Firstly, I've given the site a bit of a graphic overhaul, hope you like it, got a bit board of the orange so I found a new template :). Secondly I'm currently chipping away at my Ironclad, hoping to make it the best I can, because as I've said before, I'm a big fan of t'old Dreadnoughts and speaking of which, I was amazed when I saw the new plastic Venerable Dreadnought sprus, am getting at least 2 for my forces, 1 for the Ultramarines and 1 for the Iron Lords, which will be a character dread known a Borellus, but will uses standard dread rules, as they are a codex army, but I can't wait!!!!!

Lastly, Blackmane is experiencing problems with his internet and as such, it's likely he won't be back online till the end of March :( however as they say every cloud has a silver lining and as I've been talking to Blackmane he's said that he's using this opportunity to paint his heart out and the results are astounding, cant wait to see what he's done in person!

Well that's all for now, will update in a day or two when I've got my dreadnought done, as well as my gallery of said beasts.

Zebulon

More Pics

Hi all.

So two posts in as many days, its almost unheard of. Anyway on to the pictures.

So first up we have the first three Wolf Guard to complete the squad of 5 in my previous pictures post. There isn't much more to say about them really. Its clear what they're armed with and I'm happy with how they've turned out.

Battle Missions - Have You Ordered Yours?

Hello all.

Today Battle Missions went up for advanced order along with some very nice looking Killa Kans and new shiney plastic Venerable Dreadnought. There is also the new Deff Dread and the updated Basalisk and Chimera kits. The Deff Dread does look quite awesome aswell but I think the Kans would be the better buy (shame I'm not an Ork player, well not yet anyway lol) The Venerable Dreadnought does look good aswell but in order to turn it into a Space Wolf Venerable Dreadnought there could be alot of green stuff work filling in bits here and there. I know Zebulon will be getting it, and I think he may have mentioned something about getting 2 of them. Well one for his Ultarmarines and one for his Iron Lords I guess. Myself on the other hand will wait to see what it looks like when Zebulon gets his. I have however pre-ordered a copy of the Battle Missions book. I think it could really add some diversity to the game as long as the missions aren't all based along the same lines as those in the cole rulebook.

And lastly as a side note, an update on our planned campaign. I'm still in the process of writing the last few missions and typing up what I've already done. We've decided to make the campaign 10 missions long, although there will be a couple of optional missions that can be played depending on the outcome of a couple of missions, so at most it will end up as 12 shoul dboth optional missions be played. I've also told Zebulon that I've had an idea for an intresting set of games. I need to write those as well (It all just keeps building up). There will be 5 of them and they will be linked together, basically forming a mini campaign. It doesn't have a setting yet and in order to turn my idea into reality I may have to adapt some of the rules but I don't know yet. We'll see how it goes.

Well thats all for now. Thanks for reading.

Blackmane

Bulidings crack and tumble. Fields are turned into graves. But all is not lost as more hero's arrive to try and turn the tide.

There's a howl in the distance. It echo's all around. Is it getting closer? Or further away? It can't be good either way.

Round Up

First up my Space Wolves. I have bought myself a techmarine to turn into an Iron Priest. So far I've changed the power axe into a thunder hammer and added a small wold pelt to the front of the tech marine. I've done a couple of othe rlittle pieces to him and more will be doe over the next few days.
I've also been working on the other 5 members of my wolf guard in power armour pack. They're now almost finished and just require a few finishing details like the gems that need doing and a few other minor details.

At Long Last

Hello all.

Today I managed to get some pictures taken of some of the models I've been working of and a couple of pics of ones that I decided I wanted to show. So lets get started.

More Iron Lords......

Wow! Two blogs from me in less than a week, and no, the world hasn't ended! Anyway.... I did say since I've discovered how to brighten my pics on the laptop I'd post some more of my Chapter Master/ Master of the Forge Hoban Lakor, these have not come out as well, but they're better than the first one I put up.

New Blog Post...The Newest Iron Lords

Hi all,
well I did say I was going to post some new pictures, and here's the first few, nicely brightened up by my laptop!

The Bastion and Skyshield

Hey all

So I got my Bastion and Skyshield Landing Pad yesterday and had them assembled by the end of the day. I have to admit I'm very impressed with the Bastion kit and I will definatley be getting more at some point. I might even try my hand at combining a couple of kits to make something bigger. I'm also equally impressed with the Skyshield kit although there was alot of cleaning up to do on barricade parts.
Once I've got the stuff I need installed on my computer I'll be able to take some pictures as I paint them and I will also be able to get some pictures of all the other models that I've done over the past couple of months.

Well thats all for today

Thanks

New Year, New Banner

So you may have noticed that Sign of the Aquila has a new banner at the top of the page. Myself and Zebulon decided that we wanted to change it so i've put together the one you now see at the top of the page. It still might be changed again or adjusted in some way depending on what Zebulon thinks. It would be nice to know what you all think of the new banner and if you have any suggestions feel free to let us know in the comments.

First of (hopefully) Many to Come

Hi all Blackmane here.

Firstly I'd like to appologise for the lack of posts. Life's been a bit busy for the last few weeks. Anyway where to begin.

Well firstly as Zebulon said in the previous post we had our first game of planetstrike over christmas (and our first battle for a while). I think I can safely say it was a game enjoyed by both of us. It was the first outing for my Space Wolves under the new codex and I have to say that i'm most impressed. The blood claws are still dangerous in close combat and the grey hunters are still very effective at providing close range fire and are not to far behind the blood claws in close combat. Though I have to say that i'm most impressed with Njal. He managed to use most of his pyshic powers and was able to stop Zebulon from using Tigurius effectively.

New Post!

Hi All,

I apologise again for the lack of post, but as usual my life has been some what hectic as of late. Anyway, where to begin?.... ah yes, well as I said before Xmas I made and entered a diorama for my local GW and it kinda went badly. The minis were great, but that actual base warped and looked generally rubbish, there will be some low-res w.i.p. pics being posted soon, with the ideas behind what i did and a final finished one, I have since thrown away the base as it disappoints me to look at it :( But , I will post them pix once I get my laptop sorted, technical problems mean I can't connect to the internet unless I am sat next to the router and my computer has decided to take a disliking to my phone too, so uploading pics is a little hard at the minuet.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We hope that 2010 will be a great year for you all.
